The Stapler Everyone Will Want to Borrow

Posted on 1/12/2012 by Tania Admin

Recently, edRover received the gift of a great premium stapler and staples from Shoplet.com and now we have to label it and keep everyone else in the office from stealing it! They are that good.

The other day I received a great package in the mail from our friends at Shoplet.com. Of course, I love the thrill of opening boxes bearing gifts, so I tore into it to find a a stapler that Judy Jetson would be proud to sport on her desk, and a box of sleek staples.

I know most people go for the cheapo stapler and bargain staples when they find they need a new one. I always did, especially as a non-profit on a budget. But I was always frustrated by massive staple jams, rips in the papers, and having to pull things out with my fingernails. Ouch! It gets to the point where you don't even want to bother to staple something because you know it is going to turn out badly.

This sleek pair eliminates all of those hassles. I tested the Swingline SmartTouch Stapler and Swingline Premium Chisel Point Staples. The staples come in a plastic container that won't crush in your desk like the paper boxes do. With a simple press on the back end of the staple, a sliding "drawer" comes out of the front to allow a full row, yes a full row, of staples to be neatly inserted inside. No more breaking off a chunk of staples to get them to fit and then finding you have a ton of remnant staples that will only cause more jams.

Next, I started stapling everything I could find. Luckily, my desk was a mess and there were a ton of documents that needed stapling (and some junk mail that didn't see my staple fest coming!) The rubberized upper bar of the stapler was very comfortable to use and took a lot less pressure than a regular economy stapler. I think it is because it is elevated and has extra leverage when you are pushing down. The staple glided through even 4 layers of postcards without showing any shreds or marks beside the entry points for the staples. On the back, the ends of the staples were neatly turned in and were not digging into the paper or twisted as many lesser staplers would produce.

This is the stapler that I will label and hide for my own use when my office mates or kiddos come looking for a stapler! It will make your documents look great, and will save your nails!  Thanks for this great addition to our office supplies, Shoplet.com!
